KA210-YOU - Small-scale partnerships in youth (KA210-YOU) Erasmus+

Festivals have always been an important tool to strengthen communities and increase civic participation. They are great tools to connect citizens, allow networking among people, connect organisations with similar objectives and re-discover public space as an important catalyst for ideas and community-building.
This project focuses on giving tools to youth with fewer opportunities to actively participate in their communities, learning skills related to event organisation (time management, networking, public speaking, budgeting, teamwork), community management (co-creation processes, survey) and social innovation (critical thinking, adaptability, risk-taking). This allows the involved youth to connect with each other and with people living in the same area, understanding more about the issues related to their communities and possible solutions to implement together with local institutions.
The YICF project aims to promote accessibility to cultural and civic events across Europe, empower youth and strengthen local communities by using the tool of festivals. Its objectives include empowering 12 youth workers to support youth in organising impactful local events, training 20 youth (16-24) in event planning, building youth work capacity in 4 organisations (IT, NO, RO, ES), involve 20+ stakeholder organisations in inclusive events and publishing a toolkit for organising inclusive events.
The consortium is going to implement the following activities:
1.Kick-off meeting in Romania
2.Training for trainers in Norway
3.Six-months capacity-building activities with youth from local communities
4.Festival co-design training with 20 youth
5.Four local festivals in Italy, Spain, Romania and Norway
6.Toolkit creation
7.Evaluation and closing meeting
All activities aim at empowering youth in their local communities, strengthening community bonds and positively impacting the organisations’ skills and reach.
